On a tight budget? Can’t afford trips to a hair salon? Here’s how you get gorgeous hair at a fraction of the price.
#1. Look for the right products. Salons often use expensive products to get that perfect look you love, but many are unaware that these same products can be bought for less. One place to find these awesome products is online. Many wholesalers offer products at a reduced cost, so check the Internet first for your favorite products.
#2. Get the right hair brush. All hair is created differently and what type of hair you have will determine the right kind of brush for your it. Avoid all the hard cheap plastic brushes you will find at retail stores like Wal-Mart and instead opt for a nice brush that heals your hair.
#3. Don’t use so much Shampoo. One of the biggest mistakes women make when it comes to their hair is using entirely too much shampoo. Shampoo dries hair out and robs it of its natural oils. For those with oily hair wash your hair every other day, those with dryer hair you can wait even longer, perhaps twice a week. This will help your hair retain its natural sheen and will make your hair healthier in the long term.

#4. Dye your hair at home. If you want to change up your look but don’t have the cash to spend on a trip to the salon, stay at home and do it yourself. The dyes that stylist use and the ones that line the shelves of your local drug store are virtually the same. Save yourself some cash and dye your own hair. If you closely follow the instructions on the box you will get the same results as a salon.
#5. Use homemade conditioners. Instead of buying expensive hot oil treatments from a salon, use the products you already have to get the desired outcome. For example, honey, olive oil, milk, and eggs are all excellent natural conditioners that will moisturize your hair just as well. An added bonus is they contain no harsh chemicals that eventually dry your hair out anyways.

#6. Look for coupons for expensive products. If you just have to have the traditional expensive hair products that make your hair look and feel the way you want it to, then look for coupons. Don’t pay top dollar just because that’s what they are looking for, instead focus on your budget by searching for coupons that will save you tons.
#7. Let your hair air dry. This is one of the easiest ways to keep your hair healthy. Heat dries hair out and can damage it. Instead of hot blow drying it just let your hair air dry and you will be surprised at how beautiful it can look.
#8. Search YouTube and Apps for info. If you are looking for tips and tricks for your beauty needs don’t forget about YouTube videos and iPhone apps that can guide you. Many popular experienced hair stylists have their own YouTube channel and offer hair advice for free. Take advantage of popular iPhone and Android apps like My Beauty Bible which offers hundreds of tips for a low onetime fee.
