Free Ways to Get Motivated to Exercise

Some people go to the gym in order to get motivation from being around other people. But if you can?t afford a gym membership, what are free ways that you can get motivated?

#1: Watch workout videos. Youtube is literally full of workout videos that are inspirational for anyone who is trying to get back into the groove of exercising. It also helps you realize that your goals can be attained if you just put your mind into it.

#2: Put up a picture of your goal. Visual reminders are a sure fire way to get your subconscious motivated to make the changes necessary to reach your goal. If you want your body to look a certain way then find a picture of your goal and put it somewhere you can see it daily.

#3: Set a goal. Obviously you should set a goal before you can truly get motivated. Give yourself a good direction to go in and follow it. Of course, you can?t go from sitting on the couch all day to running a marathon in a few short days. Set small goals at first.

#4: Reject negative thoughts. Negative thinking will crush any goals you have if you let it overtake it. Don?t go with it and instead replace I can?t with I can and see how quickly you are motivated to exercise.

#5:Go public with your goals. Nothing gets a person motivated quite like being accountable for reaching your goals. If you decide you want to walk everyday then tell the world, and if you don?t go public with that too.

#6: Get an exercise buddy. Grab a fellow friend who wants to get fit and join forces. Having a partner to exercise with will likely get you out of the bed and into your jogging shoes.

#7: Put money into your workout clothes. Investing money into your exercise routine will make you want to use your purchases. Grab some new workout clothes and you will likely want to wear them on your workout.

#8: Mix up your routine. Once you get into a workout routine keep yourself motivated by switching things up a bit. Run one day and swim the next to make your routine fun and interesting.
