Dandruff Shampoo is a Waste of Money

By Kennedi Rose / March 19, 2013

Do you have white flakes falling from your head? That’s embarrassing, especially if you have dark hair. You might be tempted to run out and buy a bottle of dandruff shampoo.

The problem? Dandruff shampoo costs more than regular shampoo? But it might not do anything special. Save your money, and invest in a high-quality normal shampoo.

Dandruff is caused by having a dry, itchy scalp. The best way to cure it is by reviving the oils at the roots of your hair. The best way to do this is by using a natural-bristle hairbrush. It helps you comb around the natural oils and stimulate blood flow to the scalp.

Taking steps to reduce your stress, such as exercise or yoga, can also help you get rid of dandruff.

Dandruff shampoo can dry out your scalp, making dandruff worse. In addition, it’s much more expensive than brushing your hair.

Of course, sometimes dandruff is the result of a more serious medical condition like psoriasis or eczema. If this is the case, visit your doctor.
