5 Reasons Why Dancing is Great for your Overall Health

By Kayla / December 11, 2017

Dancing is one thing which is present in all of us in some or the other way. What do you do when you hear Macarena? You get your groove on. What do you do when you see that your crush has replied? You do a little happy dance. In some form or the other, we all incorporate dancing in our life in little ways.

As much as dancing helps us to get lost in a good upbeat song, it has some amazing health benefits as well. If you are looking for reasons you break a sweat today, check out these five reasons why you should start dancing for health benefits.

  1. Get way to lose weight

Dancing is a great low-impact cardio workout which can increase your stamina and improve your cardiovascular health. Dancing can target cardiovascular endurance, body composition as well as muscular endurance and flexibility. It will help you to improve your balance, agility, coordination and speed as well.

Taking up this fun activity will ensure that you will enjoy your exercise routines and will stick to it. It won?t be monotonous like a treadmill run, but in the end, you will be burning calories in a fun way.

People with heart failure can take up dancing to improve their heart health and breathing.

Dancing can burn from five to 10 calories per minute depending on the intensity of your dancing. If you go for slow waltz it will burn lesser calories compared to a mambo routine. So, you know you can start dancing for healthy body.

  1. Increase your energy level

Do you feel like you?re lying on the couch too often? Switch on your music system and get your feet tapping to the beats. You can also go and take a dance lesson. It has been found out that dancing can improve physical performance and increase energy levels among adults. So, if you see yourself sitting on the couch too much, you know what to do.

  1. Balance yourself better

Research has shown that two out of three people fall once in their lifetime. Older people tend to suffer injuries more often. If you want to avoid such fatal accidents, you can go and join a dance class right now. Including dancing in your daily life can help you to improve your balance. The fast movements will ensure that you gain a better control of your body. Dancing will also help you to stabilize yourself and get a good posture.

Apart from being a fun exercise, dancing will increase your flexibility and will help you to avoid joint pains in the future. Dancing can also reduce the post-exercise soreness. While putting on your ballet slippers can help you to increase your flexibility and reduce body stiffness, simple dancing at home can also help you to get that flexible body.

  1. Strong bones

Dancing would definitely help you to build stronger bones and to prevent osteoporosis. For women, there is a significant drop in estrogen levels during menopause which stops calcium from being absorbed into the bones. This tends to weaken the bones and leads to joint pains later on. Dancing will help you to keep your joints lubricated to prevent arthritis.

  1. Mental health

Apart from all the physical health benefits, dancing has a significant effect on your brain as well. It helps to improve your memory by making you recall all the dance steps and routines. Dancing is a great mental exercise for your brain and to keep it active and alert all the time.

If you are suffering with depression, dancing with a group of people on upbeat songs with help you to get rid of the blues.

Dancing is an amazing workout for your brain and body. The best thing about it is that anyone can do it, anywhere. You don?t need any special equipment to start dancing. So, what are you waiting for? Grab a partner, turn on the speakers and start flipping your hair.

Siberian Health Company

By Kayla / September 18, 2017

The idea of Siberian Health and Beauty Products came in 1996, when two young people, just barely out of high school, had a remarkable idea.

They had an idea that if they could figure out how to make a product by extracting the special herbs that grow in Siberia to make dietary supplements, health and beauty products it would be an excellent way to promote the health and beauty needs of customers within Siberia and beyond; possibly to even the international marketplace. So was the beginning of the Siberian Health and Beauty Products online store.

Siberian Health is a company that has been caring about the health of men and women for almost two decades. Since originally being founded in Novosibirsk, Siberia, in 1998, by the two kids with a dream. The company is dedicated to the development and production of dietary food supplements and cosmetics that are kept biologically active; and have been proven to be healthy, in long-term studies that are continuously being done on the many benefits of medicinal herbs found in the Lake Balcal and Gorny Altai.

After only a short time,(five years) the company began to grow like a wildfire burns fresh kindling. No one expected this product line would take off as quickly as it was. Because of the overwhelmingly popularity, the company had to think of ways to meet the increasing supply and demand ratio. The CEOs broached the subject of a possible “in-house” production, since their scientific associates could no longer handle the increasing numbers of product in demand. So in 1999. it was decided that it was time to launch the first ever complex of the in-house production line.

Everything was moving along so quickly once the Corporate Research and Innovation Center began taking action in 2001. Once the product had been perfected, they would need to pick a catchy logo for their product. As well, a design for packaging needed to be discovered. Even though the company had already started to actively promote the product in 2004, patents had not yet started to be issued until 2007. This new brand of product was becoming revolutionary to the health and beauty markets. Currently, the company’s manufacturing in the in-house complex was more than meeting Russian and international standards and expectations.

The Scientific Department’s goal is to do research with the most cutting edge of technology; and have the ability to implement plenty of clinical trials to the products introduced. These products are for new and improved dietary supplements, vitamins, and health & beauty products for both men and women. Ultimately, the goal is to be able to develop their very own special formula for this new brand of products.

Some products available on line are “Siberian Propolis“; in fact, one of the special propolis formulas is the “Garnet Siberian Propolis.” This Propolis helps to maintain the sexual and immune systems, it’s a special Siberian Folk medicine recipe containing deer antler. Proven to be a quite popular and beneficial dietary supplement. There are also supplements available for a healthy heart; such as, the Legendary Siberian Chai, a cardio balanced tea made with “altay ziziphora herb”. Just some of the heath products available. The “Pantoral,Siberian Red Root and Deer Antler” supplement is part of the active series. This one in particular helps to maintain sexual health of both men and women; and “helps support the body’s natural recovery functions after exercising.” There is also several skin, hair. and oral care products available.

As one can see, the Research and Innovation Center continues on course with their original mission to keep up with Russian and international science, by the constant launch of new and improved products.

7 Tips for Preventing Injuries During Workouts and Other Physical Activities

By Kayla / August 10, 2017

Exercising is great for the mind and body but, if you?re not careful, you can get hurt. From scrapes and scratches to pulled muscles and neck and back injuries, there?s a lot that can go wrong when you?re engaged in moderate to intense physical activities like exercising. While this shouldn?t convince you to stop working out, what you should do is be prepared. Taking precautions will minimize your chances of getting hurt and ensure that you get the workout your body needs.

1.? Talk to the Doc

Prior to engaging in any physical activity, it is imperative to talk with your doctor. All exercise routines, sports, and other intense physical activities have the potential to cause harm to your physical health. Your doctor is aware of your medical history and can determine whether a particular activity is safe for you to participate in.

2.? Wear Appropriate Workout Gear

When working out or engaging in intense physical activities like sports, wearing the right gear is ideal. For instance, sweat pants, shorts, or yoga pants are great for working out. Additionally, wearing protective gear is a must. Workout gear,?such as a compression brace, while playing a game of basketball can prevent you from getting injured on the court. Wearing a mouth guard while playing football will protect your teeth from being damaged. A back brace might provide support for those who wish to lift heavy weights. The right gear and protective equipment go a long way to minimizing your risk of getting hurt.

3.? Be Realistic in Your Approach

If you?re going to start a new workout routine or participate in a new sport, be realistic with your expectations of your performance. Simply because you could lift 250 lb weights when you were in your 20s doesn?t mean you?ll be able to do the same in your 30s. Start slow and work your way up to your fitness or performance goals. Trying to outdo your personal best too soon could result in injuries.

4.? Stretch Before Activities

Whether you?re about to start lifting weights, getting ready to head to your dance class, or are going to the park to play a game with some friends, make sure that you warm your muscles up prior to engaging in these activities. Stretching prior to working out allows your body to adjust and prepare for the upcoming activities preventing many injuries that come from engaging in rigorous activities with cold muscles.

5.? Stay Hydrated

Water is the fuel that is often overlooked during physical activities. Sure, you might sip some water after the workout, but that is not enough. Your body is losing water as you sweat and it badly needs to be replenished to continue performing efficiently. Drinking water before, during, and after your workout or physical activity will not only quench your thirst, it will also keep your joints and muscles lubricated to minimize the risk of getting hurt.

6.? Listen to Your Body

It is also important to listen to your body. You cannot be so consumed with reaching a goal that you neglect the subtle signs that are being thrown at you. If your knee starts throbbing, perhaps it?s time to stop for the day. If you?re starting to feel tired and it goes beyond the basic fatigue of a tough workout, you need to listen. Working your body beyond its limits can lead to injury.

7.? Rest

Lastly, it is important to get good sleep. Working out or completing other physical activities on a fatigued body is never a good idea as your body needs time to replenish and repair.

Exercise, sports, and other physical activities are a lot of fun to engage in and can do wonders for your health. What must be remembered in all of this is that your safety must come first. Take the above-mentioned precautions when engaging in any moderate to intense activities to ensure that you can have fun and benefit from these activities without ending up in the emergency room.

How to Curb the Urge to Eat Junk Food?

By Kayla / May 2, 2017

All those hours in the gym, sweating it out, will go down the drain if there is not focus on the diet. The right balance of workout and diet will give the desired results. Everybody knows that the tasty and mouth watering? junk food is high in calorie content. It’s health risks are not unknown. But at the same time it is also extremely tempting and difficult to ignore!

Read on to resolve the dilemma of whether to eat or avoid that piece of junk food.

One question that comes in the mind is that why is junk food so tempting in the first place? Why are we unable to stop ourselves even after knowing that it is not healthy?

Well, it does have a scientific reasoning behind it.

There are two main reasons behind it.

Junk foods are manufactured in such a way so as to excite the brain. The perfect blend of fat, salt, sugar, carbohydrates and protein tricks our brain into eating it. The food is designed, manufactured and marketed in such a way that ignoring it becomes almost impossible. It’s texture also matters a lot. Junk foods are the perfect blend of crunchiness and softness, like the crunchy chocolate biscuit of Oreo and the smooth cream inside! Our mind gets too many sensations at the same time, it doesn’t get bored easily, hence we crave for it.

Not only do we crave for junk food but also overeat it at most of the times. This is because as soon as we take a bite, it melts away in our mouth. Our mind gets the signal that we are eating less although the amount of calories going in are more than the estimation of our brain. It’s just that the stomach does not get the feeling of being full. Hence we tend to overeat those packets of chips or fries.

Now that you the reason behind liking and overeating junk food, let’s move over to the solutions.

Drink more water

Drink more water. It is good for the metabolism of the body. Also whenever you are hungry and crave for junk food, drive water as it keeps the stomach full.

Sleep more

Sleeping as an bodily function is as important as the beating of heart. Body repairs itself while sleeping. Moreover a recent study showed that inadequate sleep led to more cravings for unhealthy snacks. So start hitting the bed early and remember to eat at least two hours before sleeping because a full stomach may hinder in falling asleep.

Plan meals

If your meals are already planned then their will be no scope for trying out a new pizza place down the street! Decide what you will have for breakfast, lunch and dinner the previous day itself.

Have healthy options

Instead of stocking on those packets of chips and candies, keep your shelves stocked with alternative healthy yet tasty snack options for those midnight cravings. Try out different delicacies from around the world (which are healthy!) Put a habit of eating fruits. They are rich in natural sugars and tasty too. Eat healthy fats like omega 3 found in nuts.

Add proteins to your diet

Proteins are body building foods. They also keep the stomach fuller for longer periods of time. So pangs of hunger are kept at bay. Unnecessary consumption of junk food is controlled? hence.

Have patience

Lastly, don’t go too hard on yourself?. Change your habits gradually. Give time. Treat yourself occasionally!

E-cigarettes: Better?

By Shilpa / April 4, 2017

Vaping VS Smoking??

While smoking is known to cause deadly diseases of the heart and the lungs, the latest debate is on whether the e-cigarettes are safer than actual cigarettes. ?Vape Stores?, shops selling these electronic cigarettes are spread everywhere now.

What exactly are these e-cigarettes? These are batter operated devices that look more like a pen, than a cigarette. They have small containers inside, usually refillable or replaceable, containing Nicotine, added flavors dissolved in propylene alcohol and glycerol and chemicals, which would give you the high without the danger that actual cigarettes possess. Also, there is a heating device that turns the liquid into vapor that you inhale when you take a drag.

The basic component is Nicotine, which has its risks. Nicotine is said to be addictive, and when you stop using it, you may go into withdrawal and feel depressed and crabby. Other than being extremely addictive, Nicotine causes heart problems, diabetes and damages arteries. Inhaled nicotine increases the risk of addiction to other drugs as well. ?Some brands are even adding chemicals such as formaldehyde (used for construction purposes) and diacetyl (buttery- tasting chemical added in popcorns, which is extremely harmful when inhaled). Propylene alcohol and glycerol may decompose when heated by the vaporizer and can be transformed into formaldehyde.

Even though E-cigarettes aren?t 100 per cent safe, they are still a better option than the conventional tobacco cigarettes. Smoking kills a lot of people, because of the toxins that the smoke produces. A burning cigarette releases noxious gases such as carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide. The tar produced contains most of the carcinogens. The benefit with e-cigarettes is that, they don?t produce any tar or toxic gases. The danger from the secondhand vapor isn?t zero, but definitely very low. There are few other things you may want to know about e-cigarettes. First being the fact that there is always a risk of the batteries exploding due to overheating. Also, there have been numerous reports about liquid Nicotine poisoning.? There are theories that people using e-cigarettes to quit smoking have been successful in doing so, but no concrete evidence. E-cigarettes should be the last resort to quit smoking.

There is no definite conclusion to this debate, but for now, quit smoking cigarettes, and wait till more research is done on the new invention.

Keep your Body and Mind Alive, Breakup with Stress

By Kayla / March 21, 2017

Who was the first one to set a foot on the Moon?s surface? Neil Armstrong. Do you know who set his foot second? Or the third? No. In a world that remembers only winners, the one who comes first, there is certain amount of pressure to be the best. While we are taught to enjoy the success, dream higher, we tend to ignore to learn to accept our defeat and be okay with it. People give up, quit, kill themselves, trying to fit into the societal frame of excellence. Everybody wants to be on the top of the world, one reaches there, another wants to topple him off and be there and on and on the wheel goes, crushing those on the ground- the mediocre. Everyone is praying for the wheel to stop; except for the ones who control it. The blind ones.

Under the right pressure, coal turns into diamond. While a certain amount of pressure is necessary for performance, it is important to be able to recognize your individual limit. It is important for individuals to accept competition in a healthy fashion, without breaking down or under performing. Stress has different meaning to different individuals, at different stages of life. A teenager who fails in an examination, a toddler who loses his toy, a job failure, a obese person not able to lose weight, a heartbroken lover. There are signs that appear in your behavior and attitude of the person under stress- as muscle tension in various parts of the body, palpitation and high blood pressure, indigestion and hyper-acidity.

Ultimately, their changes affect your daily activities as well. You may sleep too much, or too less, eat a lot, probably even start drinking, relying on tranquilizers. When this stress crosses a particular level, it starts to affect the performance capabilities-nervousness, lack of concentration, loss of memory, low confidence, and under performing activities you otherwise were really good at.

How do you deal with stress? First of all, realize that no one is perfect. You are real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful and yet a magical person. Everyone has a past, but holding on too tight to your past few bad experiences, can ruin everything new for you. Accept your faults, your mistakes, and move on.
Start with meditation, yoga, or just simple early morning walks. You can do some breathing exercises that will help you manage your energies. Throughout every minute of every day, you are presented with opportunities that will either deplete or replenish your energy. Learn to say ?NO? to people or opportunities that inflect you with negative energies.
Be optimistic. Make positive statements. Be confident, not too proud. Pride takes the fall, while self-esteem keeps you hanging in the time of a deadly storm.
Laugh. Surround yourself with people who keep you happy, support you in your tough times and guide you when you have to make important decisions.
Take a break, and shake it off a bit.

It is not the load that breaks you down, it is the way you carry it around. You are as flexible as a waterfall, if you are still trying, you haven?t failed.

Habits That Help You Stay Fit

By Kayla / March 14, 2017

Contrary to popular belief, it actually takes a lot longer to form a habit than just three weeks. On average, something only becomes automatic about two months after you have made it a part of your daily routine. While most people would like to look a certain way, they only really get motivated to do so when there is an impending due date. It could be a friend?s wedding or swimsuit season approaching. Then all of a sudden fitness becomes a top priority. If you really want to be fit and healthy, however, you can?t just make an effort once every six months. Instead, you need to include certain behaviors and routines in your everyday life to experience fulfilling and permanent results. So, how would you go about doing this? Well here are the habits that you need to form:

Find Your Motivation

Fitting into an outfit or impressing someone is not motivation enough. Sure, it will suffice for a while but once you have achieved your goal you will just be tempted to fall back into old patterns. You need to think of getting fit in terms of health and feeling good. Not only will this help you feel motivated for longer, you are also going to be able to stick with the changes you are making. Don?t think of your journey as ?I need to lose weight?. Instead, focus on ?I need to get healthy; I need to be stronger?. If you are in a slump or finding it difficult to discover your inspiration, try reading up on daily habits that help you fight mediocrity.

Construct Achievable Plans

Everyone is under the impression that being fit is an unpleasant process. It requires effort and dedication but it really isn?t awful. What you need to start doing is to make it easier for yourself to be fit. Make sure to stock your fridge and pantry with healthy foods. Cook and freeze healthy meals over the weekend so that you have something to eat during the week. On a similar note, avoid crash diets and give yourself permission to have a treat every now and then. By indulging in a piece of chocolate every now and then, you will not feel as though you are depriving yourself.

Make Exercise a Daily Goal

Trying to achieve a work-life balance is hard enough without adding exercise to the mix. If you keep crazy hours, it can be difficult to make sure that you get a daily workout. Therefore, adjust your schedule accordingly. If you are too tired to hit the gym on a day when you typically workout, try this trick instead. Exercise for just fifteen minutes. Step on a treadmill, do squats or even run up and down your hallway if you have to. Just make sure that you get that short workout in every day, regardless of how tired you are.

Surround Yourself with Like minded People

If your friends love indulging in junk food and lazing on the couch, it is quite likely that you are going to start following suit. Even if you have the best of intentions regarding your health, there is a good chance that you will cave and join them. This is why it?s important to create a social circle that is filled with people who have similar goals as you do. This will serve as both, encouragement, as well as support. Not to mention working out and eating healthy is a lot easier to do when you?ve got your friends with you.

These are some of the habits that you need to start incorporating into your daily routine. It may take some time for them to become ingrained in you but it will happen eventually.

Nourish Your Body With Proper Everything- Sleep, Food, Exercise and Meditation

The guiding principle to a peaceful life, in this fast-moving world is the proper interrelation of your body and your mind, with the environment. Deadlines and workload leave you exhausted and stressed, both mentally and physically. The answer lies in a proper routine, wherein you are getting your nutrients, a good night?s sleep, a proper workout and some time to rest and quiet your mind.

Breathing is the most important activity of our body. You don?t need a 100$ spa treatment to calm your mind and body, a 10 minute breathing exercise can help you de-stress. ?There are a variety of breathing techniques which will help you restore balance to your body and soul. When you are silent, through the breaths you leave, your mind frees you of disturbing thoughts, old fears, and the fresh breaths you take in heal your soul. Meditation keeps you aware and sharp, also increasing the blood flow, reducing muscle tension, and increases serotin levels which improves mood and behavior. You?ll be surprised by the ideas you get during meditation. In fact, most people find this ? along with taking a shower ? to be their most creative times of the day.

Next to breathing, the second most vital function is to eat and drink. Have a proper diet that includes the major macronutrients and a combination of the major food groups. Make sure you have a healthy breakfast in the morning around 7-8 AM, including a glass of milk. You can start your day with a glass of water (that is right after you wake up). It fires your metabolism, keeps you hydrated for the rest of the day, and flushes out toxins from your body. Avoid excess caffeine in stressful situations, making things worse with processed foods and alcohol.

Early to bed, early to rise.?Well, not much to argue here.?Restful sleep (at least 7 hours of healthy sleep) keeps you fresh for the whole day. When you haven?t slept properly the previous night, you tend to have problems trying to concentrate on your work- your mind is tired and your face looks unenthusiastic. If you can?t commit to consistent sleep pattern, you disrupt your body?s natural balance with nature, leading to the weakening your immune system, irregular weight gain or weight gain, and maybe depression.

While we are spending hours wearing stiff clothes, and sitting behind uncomfortable desks, our bodies are developing chronic back pain, and increasing the cholesterol levels. Our body needs movement. Find an aerobic activity, or maybe go for a simple walk. Regular physical activity keeps your body flexible, and increases stamina, making it easier for you to adapt to tough conditions. Exercise can reverse the detrimental effects of stress and lift depression.

Other than these 4 basic things, make sure you keep a good company. People who encourage you to take challenges, those who push you out of your comfort zone are the ones whom you need in your life. Your friends should be the ones who support in tough times, and have a laugh along with you in your good times. Cultivate loving relationships. If both work and your loved ones stress you out, you are not on the right road. Also make sure you don?t hold on to your feelings. Let it out, or else it will build up in a poison ruining your health completely.

Stay fit! Stay happy!
