What are some of the best cheap face cleaners, or facial cleaners, on the market?
For Dry-Normal Skin:
Cetaphil Cleanser is a $10 drugstore cleanser without chemicals or perfumes that irritate your skin. It’s suitable for sensitive skin and dermatologists recommend it.
For Oily Skin:
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Face Wash in Grapefruit — often referred to as Neutrogena Grapefruit — is absolutely the best wash for oily and acne-prone skin. Beware: it can have a drying effect, so if you have normal skin with the occasional breakout, this might be too strong for you. (I use it occasionally, but immediately follow up with moisturizer).
For Normal Skin:
Olay Foaming Face Wash sells for $4.50 to $5 at most drugstores, and is a great all-purpose face wash for normal skin. For extra cleaning power, pair it with a $30 Olay spin brush, which is like an electric toothbrush for your face.
For Removing Lots of Makeup:
Philosophy Purity Made Simple is great for removing every ounce of makeup from your face, and it’s designed as an all-around wash for normal skin. It’s a little more expensive than Olay, but it gets rave reviews.
For Sensitive Skin:
Olay wins again, this time with its Olay Foaming Face Wash For Sensitive Skin (make sure you see the words “sensitive skin” on the package). It doesn’t have chemicals, perfumes or irritants. (As a side note, Olay’s SPF 30 daytime moisturizer for sensitive skin is also one of the best of its kind).
