Acne Skin Care on a Budget: Use Apple – Face & Fitness

Acne Skin Care on a Budget: Use Apple

Treating acne-prone skin can really break the bank. I’m tired of forking over dozens of dollars on acne skin care products like face wash, creams and peroxide. I feel like no matter how much money I spend, nothing works.

And besides, I’m sick of paying out the nose for “all-natural” acne skin care products. Do I really need to pay an up-charge for that? Can’t I just have a natural, chemical-free product that doesn’t require a Wall Street banker’s wages?

So I’m intrigued to learn that by using fruit — just a basic apple! — I can make my own all-natural acne skin care cream.

Total cost: about $4 bucks.

An Apple a Day Really CAN Keep the Doctor’s Bills Away.

Here’s a recipe for making your own all-natural acne face wash at home.

Step 1: Grate a large apple into a bowl. (Keep the peel on.) If you’d like, splurge on an organic apple.

Step 2: Mix 2 tablespoons of honey, and stir until the mixture feels thick. (Remember the Biblical reference to “apples and honey”? Who knew they were talking about zapping zits!)

Step 3: Spread the mix on your face. Seriously. Make sure your face is freshly cleansed / free of makeup. Avoid putting the product near your eyes.

Step 4: Hang out for 15 minutes. Read a magazine. Paint your nails.

Step 5: Remove it with warm water and a washcloth.

And voila! There you have it. To make your own all-natural (and possibly organic!) acne cream at home, all you need are some apples and honey.
